An individual who spiked sweets with sedative and provided them to youngsters at a summer camp in Leicestershire has admitted sexual crimes against two young males both nine and ten years old.
Jon Ruben was detained after eight minors and one adult experienced illness at Stathern Lodge in July.
The 76-year-old, from Ruddington in Nottinghamshire, pleaded guilty to a series of 17 offences when he appeared at Leicester Crown Court on the end of the week.
Nevertheless, he refused to admit one particular crime he was facing, which was concerning a young boy.
The defendant was remanded in custody ahead of a subsequent court date on November 28th.
'Candy game'
The prosecutor, presenting evidence, described Ruben's offending to the court.
She stated his those affected were under-privileged children who were attending a summer program which he ran.
The defendant played a "treat game" with the youngsters, the prosecutor stated, in which he would enter the boys' rooms when they were getting ready for bed and tell them to eat sweets "rapidly".
She told the court Ruben had engaged in this activity with the boys "repeatedly", and minors had previously become sick the subsequent day.
She said the man had been successful in rationalizing this over a long period as the youngsters being "overstimulated by activities", until his family member had worries in recently.
The prosecutor stated further: "Recently" his stepson had concerns about the situation, justifiably.
"They decided to investigate in the man's possessions."
The prosecutor said objects including baby oil, ointment and medical needles were located, and his family member alerted the law enforcement about his suspicions.
She said the man continued to engage in the "sweet game" with six youngsters that night - Saturday 26 July - and they were all sick the following morning.
"Law enforcement" had not gone out by that stage," she added.
The oversight body, the police conduct office, earlier informed that it was examining the police response of the incident.
Mrs Prior said the minors were unable to walk properly due to being ill, so the stepson called the law enforcement a second time.
She explained the defendant then played the "sweet game" in a room of five youngsters.
