Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of characters, and a gripping narrative showcasing divine entities, fiends, and sinister influences expanding in power within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
Episode 3 ended with a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of characters who will branch out from the central cast to begin their separate journey, apart from the remaining groups.
This warrior group features Teor (portrayed by Travis), Thimble (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (the actor).
The Reason for Division
With a large ensemble, it was obvious from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
Hence, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the characters’ stories before splitting into three distinct groups: Fighters, Planners, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for participants who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander might look unsuited, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
First, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent opening clash with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the narrative’s action—exploited the foes for his own means, invading the hidden lair, striking Thimble, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, north of the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each character has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
- Kattigan is familiar with Timmony and warns that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- Yet, their status as key figures in House Halovar could help the group access places they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now go with him anywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are wanted by the authorities that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This leaves them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in pursuit of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
According to the latest episode’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group will not appear next week, leaving the other eight participants to round up the Questers and Planners parties.
